Reflecting Scentre Group’s purpose to create extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities, major redevelopments which opened at Westfield Kotara and Westfield Hurstville in late 2015 revolved around new lifestyle and entertainment landscaped rooftop precincts.
These new spaces offer a range of casual dining options with direct links to multi-screen cinema complexes, and on opening, very quickly became established as destinations in their own right.
However, with extended trading hours in place to accommodate evening dining hours and cinema sessions, energy efficient lighting needed to be an early consideration in designing and developing the new spaces.
All Scentre Group’s redevelopments now feature LED energy efficient lighting installed as part of design concepts, allowing Westfield centres to continue entertaining shoppers late into the night, using less energy in the process.
