During a year when their centre underwent a major redevelopment, the team at Westfield Chatswood took some time out of their busy schedule to connect with the local community.
The centre had a positive relationship already in place with The Chatswood Buddhist Centre and staff welcomed the opportunity to have a session with the monks to learn more about a philosophy already familiar to many in the local trade area.
Westfield Chatswood’s team also had the chance to put some of their learnings into practice through meditation exercises led by the monks, hopefully leading to greater mindfulness for busy professionals and a better awareness of members of the local community.
In a second initiative with The Buddhist Centre, Westfield Chatswood hosted a Chinese calligraphy event where customers were engaged to learn the timeless art of calligraphy. With an exhibition of Chinese writing artefacts and more than 400 participants in just two days, the event was a great example of bringing the local community together.
