Westfield Riccarton has maintained close working relationships with local contractors throughout the frequent earthquakes that have required specialised works in the community.
Between 2010 and 2012 the region around Westfield Riccarton experienced an incredible 13,000 earthquakes. On a number of occasions the centre needed to close in the interests of public safety, with further instances where full life safety checks of the centre were required.
