    Something for everyone

    COMMUNITY

As one of Australia’s largest shopping centres and home to one of the most diverse trade areas, Westfield Parramatta has numerous communities within its trade area.

Throughout 2015 the centre team engaged with a variety of community groups in the local area through a range of events and promotions.

The ANZAC Centenary was recognised in centre with a poppy workshop to help local families pay their respects and help commemorate 100 years since Australia’s involvement in the First World War.

The centre also celebrated Naidoc Week in recognition of Parramatta’s rich Indigenous history, supporting Burramatta Family Fun Day.

Collaborating with the local council and Indigenous artists, Westfield Parramatta hosted a school holiday work and subsequently displayed the art during the NAIDOC week festival displays shown in centre court.

Another community highlight during the year was the giant snow bunny exhibited in centre as part of the Winterlights Festival – one of five on display in the local area – adding to the centre’s ambience and providing great entertainment for local families.
